Le Clos du Notaire – Notaris – Grande Réserve 2014 – Côtes de Bourg

Le Clos du Notaire – Notaris – Grande Réserve 2014 – Côtes de Bourg

The nose is fruity, racy, slightly powerful and offers a slight richness (in the background). It reveals notes of black cherry, crushed cassis and small touches of crushed strawberry, fresh raspberry associated with woody hints, licorice as well as a subtle hint of mocha, clay and a very discreet hint of Ceylan tea (in the background). The palate is fruity, mineral, suave, well-balanced, slightly tight, silky and offers minerality, a good structure as well as an acid frame. In the mouth this wine expresses notes of ripe red cherry, crushed cassis and slight notes of blackberry, raspberry associated with touches of toasted oak as well as a subtle hint of caramelization, mocha and sweet spices. Tannins are fine and a bit firm. Beautiful persistence. There is gourmandise as well as an imperceptible hint of black pepper on the finish. A beautiful wine!
