Laurent Fayolle – Les Pontax 2018 – Crozes-Hermitage

The nose is elegant and offers precision, delicacy, a beautiful aromatic purity, power in control, complexity, a multi layer side as well as a complete side. It reveals notes of fresh raspberry, pulpy red plum, small notes of wild strawberry associated with touches of violet, violet plum, nutmeg, saffron, hints of liquorice as well as discreet hints of black olive, olive tree, sense of the place (local biotope), toasted/chocolate and black pepper berries. This wine should be decanted. The palate is elegant, delicate, beautifully built, full of precision, racy and offers subtility, gourmandize, a beautiful aerial side, minerality, an aromatic purity as well as a pulpy/bright and finely acidulous fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright blackberry, bright bigarreau cherry, small notes of bright violet plum associated with touches of raspberry, zan, saffron, black olive, cornflower, hints of sage, sense of the place (local biotope) as well as a subtle hint of almond and sugared mild tobacco. Tannins are precise, elegant and offer a fine softness. There is a discreet hint of cocoa/bitterness of the cocoa in the finish which bring peps. Congrats!
