Landaire – Shiraz 2013 – Padthaway

The nose is fruity, powerful, fine and elegant. It reveals notes of blackberry, cassis and wild red berries combined with slight mineral notes, small spicy notes as well as a hint of gray pepper, tobacco, licorice and a discreet hint of cocoa. The palate is fruity, gourmande, elegant, voluminous, silky, relatively fleshy, relatively fat and offers juiciness, a good structure and a good definition. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed strawberry, black cherry, blackberry and juicy raspberry associated with small notes of dark chocolate, zan as well as discreet hints of spices / black tea and a discreet touch of coffee. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length and persistence on oaky / cocoa notes. The finish is juicy.
