Landaire – Shiraz 2012 – Padthaway

The nose is fruity, fine, full as well as relatively powerful and relatively gourmand. It reveals notes of blackberry cream, crushed strawberry and slight notes of plum associated with hints of raspberry, touches of spice as well as a hint of mocha, rosewood, a discreet hint of Sichuan pepper and a fine hint of tobacco. The palate is fruity, gourmande, mineral, fluid, unctuous, sleek, relatively fleshy, relatively fat and offers a good density, juiciness as well as an acid frame in the background. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed strawberry, juicy blackberry, plum and touches of cassis associated with a hint of black cherry as well as small notes of chocolate, licorice and discreet hints of spices. Tannins are fine and racy. Good length and persistence on notes of chocolate, coffee and juicy fruit.
