La Vérité – La Muse 2018 – Sonoma

The nose is very complex and offers depth, a nice elegant grain, finesse in its infusion side and a nice delicacy. There are notes of boysenberry, ripe wild blackcurrant, violet and slightly ripe wild red berries (with a discreet hint of over-ripeness) combined with hints of herbs, a subtle hint of bergamot and a very discreet hint of blueberry and salinity. The palate is nicely delicate, balanced and reveals freshness, minerality, good definition, precision, complexity, fine power/delicacy, structure and a discreet hint of overripeness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fairly ripe red fruits, violets and, more slightly, blueberries, combined with hints of roasted cherry and fine tonka bean, discreet hints of forest floor, salinity and a subtle touch of roasted thyme. Nice finesse and delicacy. Some mellowness and a nice sapidity. The tannins are soft and finely sapid. Good length and persistence.
