La Mondotte 2018 – Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, 1er Grand Cru Classé B

The nose is fresh, very elegant and offers a very beautiful fine grain, subtility and a beautiful precision just like a square of silk. It reveals notes of wild blackberry, raspberry, small notes of ripe wild plum associated with fine touches of violet as well as fine hints of camphor, very fine hints of pepper, a very discreet hint of tobacco and an imperceptible hint of sense of the place. The palate is fruity, beautifully elegant and offers gourmandize, deepness, a small aerial side, a very beautiful finesse of the grain, a very beautifully pulpy/acidulous/juicy fruit and a fine acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright cassis, bright violet plum, small notes of acidulous raspberry associated with small touches of small red berries as well as fine hints of fresh violet, chocolate, liquorice, a discreet hint of rose, toasted hazelnut, sense of the place, a subtle hint of sweet mild tobacco and an imperceptible hint of Badiane (in the background). Good length. A very beautiful acidulous persistence (racy).
