Jean Chartron – Clos des Cailleret 2016 – Monopole – Puligny-Montrachet, Premier Cru

The nose is fresh, fruity, elegant, racy and offers fleshiness, a small richness as well as a fine juiciness. It reveals notes of lemon, vine peach and small notes of quenette associated with touches of mandarin, quince, flowers as well as subtle touches of vanilla and butter. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced, fresh and offers a beautiful definition, a fine acid frame, a beautiful precision, roundness, suavity, a very slight unctuosity, tension as well as finesse. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy lemon, juicy mandarin and small notes of vine peach associated with fine touches of fleshy brugnon, pear, quenette, racy minerality as well as a very discreet hint of crunchy / juicy pineapple, zests and an imperceptible touch of butter / ripe almond. Good length and good persistence.
