HSE – Rhum Agricole Extra Vieux – 2005 Single Malt Finish – Martinique

The nose is fruity, fresh and relatively powerful. It reveals notes of Zante currant, candied citrus zest (mandarin, lemon) and white fruit associated with hints of oak, fine notes of brown sugar caramel as well as a discreet hint of peppermint and a very discreet hint of cocoa (appears after aeration in the glass). The palate is fruity, gourmand, fine, elegant, well-built, well-structured, aerial, precise and relatively fat. In the mouth this Rum expresses notes of dry white grape, dried apple and fine notes of dried lemon notes associated with a hint of soft caramel as well as fine notes of exotic fruit, quenette, spice, a few discreet oaky notes and very discreet hint of cocoa. Good length and finesse.
