Hexameter 2014 – Napa Valley

The nose is fruity, beautifully aromatic and offers a slight richness, gourmandise, a slight freshness as well as a slight concentration. It reveals notes of blackberry cream, cassis and slight notes of violet associated with touches of liquorice, subtle hints of cocoa / wood, a discreet hint of strawberry cream (in the background) as well as a touch of imperceptible hint of forest soil, grove / mint and coffee (in the background). The palate is fruity, beautifully fresh, well-balanced, a bit aerial, racy and offers a beautiful density, a velvety matter, a nice density, a beautiful grain, tension as well as suavity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry cream, fresh cassis and slight notes of fresh / ripe strawberry combined with touches of dark chocolate, toasted oak, a very discreet hint of tobacco as well as an imperceptible hint of hazelnut (in the background) and caramelization (on the finish). Tannins are well-built. The finish is very slightly grainy. Good length.
