Herdade de Sao Miguel – 2016 Colheita Seleccionada – Vinho Regional Alentejano

The nose is fruity, a bit tight and offers concentration. It reveals notes of crushed blackberry, black cherry and red berries associated with small touches of wild strawberry, olive, chocolate as well as discreet hints of minerality, caramelized oak and an imperceptible hint olive tree. The palate is fruity, juicy, mineral, well-balanced, precise and offers suavity, a fine straightness, a fine unctuosity, juiciness as well as fleshiness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of wild blackberry, wild cassis and crushed wild red berries associated with small notes of raspberry, blueberry as well as discreet hints of eucalyptus, minerality and spices. Tannins are well-built. Good length. There are slight hints of vanilla, toasted oak, chocolate and roasting on the finish. There are a toasted hint / vanilla and an imperceptible touch of crushed fresh hazelnut (in the background) on the persistence.
