Henri Magnien 2016 – Champerrier – Gevrey-Chambertin

The nose is fruity, concentrated, fine, powerful, straight, elegant and offers a very slight richness (in the background). It reveals notes of black cherry, wild berries and primrose combined with hints of black pepper, red berries, tonka bean, wood and black tea. The palate is fruity, mineral, well-balanced, silky, juicy and offers a nice definition, a beautiful juiciness, a slight acid frame, a nice gourmandise, a good volume, a good freshness as well as a nice guideline. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy raspberry, crushed wild strawberry, black juicy plum / cherry and slight notes of blackberry combined with touches of Zan, violet flowers as well as a discreet touches of tonka bean, tea, spices, graphic and a very discreet hint of vanilla. Tannins are fine and very slightly tight. Good length. Presence of a very discreet touch of bitterness on the aftertaste
