The nose is powerful, aromatic, concentrated and offers richness. The wine needs to be put in carafe. It reveals notes of cassis, vanilla and blackberry combined with small notes of fleshy red fruit as well as discreet hints of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, gourmande and offers a racy minerality, tension, a beautiful acid frame as well as a fine richness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed blackberry, fresh raspberry and juicy redcurrants combined with touches of cherry, hints of vanilla as well as small hints of elderberries, small toasted hints and a discreet hint of crushed hazelnut on the finish. Tannins are fine and (very) slightly chewy. Fine chews on the finish.
