Gebrüder Nittnaus, Exquisit Trockenbeerenauslese – Burgenland – 2018

The wine has a deep golden color. The nose offers complexity, depth and concentration. It expresses notes of dried apple, roasted apple, dried apricot, yellow peach in syrup, orange jam, candied lemon peel, pineapple in syrup, poached pear, as well as a touch of vanilla, star anise and orange blossom, combined with notes of acacia honey and beeswax in the background. On the palate, the wine has a very rich and round texture, as well as expressive and complex flavors. We find notes of candied apple, poached pear with spices (vanilla, star anise), pineapple in syrup, peach in syrup, juicy mango, melon, as well as notes of honey, orange blossom and of wet leaves in the background. The finish is very long and also expresses the flavors of candied orange peel and lemon with a very fine bitter and herbaceous touch. The acidity is quite fresh and helps to counterbalance the richness and sweetness of the wine.
