Frédéric Mabileau, Les Racines 2021 – Bourgueil

Frédéric Mabileau, Les Racines 2021 – Bourgueil

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose has a subtle and complex. It expresses notes of fresh herbs (thyme, cut oregano, wild mint) and flowers (violet, lilac, dried rose) at the first nose, fine spicy notes (nutmeg, clove, licorice stick), associated with juicy and gourmand fruity notes (fresh strawberry, bigarreau cherry, red currant, morello cherry, blueberry in the background). On the palate, the attack is aromatic, enveloping and fresh. It expresses the tangy fruity notes (raspberry, red cherry, a touch of cranberries), which combine in the mid-palate with notes of fresh blueberry, herbs (thyme, wild mint) and spices (white pepper, nutmeg) and a savoury touch of licorice, violet and dried rose on the finish. The tannins are fine and delicate, but structured. Good length and refreshing acidity. Gourmandise and complexity.
