Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogne 2016 – Nebbiolo D’Alba

The nose is elegant, gourmand and offers a small richness. It reveals notes of wild blue berries, wild blackberry and small notes of cornflower, laurel associated with fine touches of raspberry, liquorice stick/zan as well as discreet hints of Sichuan pepper and a very discreet hint nutmeg. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced, clean and offers a beautiful acidulous frame, a good freshness, a good minerality as well as a beautiful finesse of the grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry, acidulous blue berries and small notes of plum associated with small touches of acidulous small red fruits, hints of cornflower, laurel as well as very discreet hints of tobacco and dry ground of dry local forest soil (sens of the place). Tannins are fine and slightly firm. Good length.
