Fontanaveccia – Grave Mora 2017 – Aglianico del Taburno Riserva DOP

The nose is fruity, spicy, aromatic and offers a frank and racy character. It expresses notes of crushed strawberry, bright blackberry and, more slightly, balsamic associated with touches of star anise, bright red berries as well as a discreet hint of sage and clove, an imperceptible hint of pepper and almost star anise. The palate is fruity and offers minerality, precision, tension, and a certain energy. It expresses notes of pulpy/juicy raspberry, bright cherry and, more slightly, roasted/tangy red berry notes associated with touches of balsamic, blond tobacco, star anise as well as fine hints of cloves and a subtle hint of sense of place. The tannins are supple and sapid/savoury. Good length, nice juiciness and freshness. Nice persistence and work on the good bitters.
