Fonseca – 1985 Vintage Port

(Bottled in 1987) The nose is elegant, finely incisive and offers a beautiful finesse. It reveals notes of cassis jam, cherry and fine notes of Quetsche plum associated with discreet notes of strawberry, discreet notes of dried fruit as well as a a few fine wood notes and a discreet note of coconut. The palate is fruity, suave, fine and offers a nice freshness, a nice volume and a nice elegance. In mouth this Porto expresses notes of fleshy strawberry and fine notes of raspberry, cassis, Quetsche plum associated with discreet hints of chocolate as well as slight notes of hazelnuts (very discreet) and a hint of coconut on the finish. Tannins are soft. Good length.
