Feudo Montoni – Perricone del Core 2016 – Sicilia

The nose is aromatic, fine, fruity, racy, elegant, finely enchanting, finely powerful and offers a very slight intensity (but full of finesse). It reveals notes of black cherry, blueberry and hints of cassis associated with slight earthy notes/terroir, plum, discreet hints of griotte, raspberry as well as a discreet hint of chocolate, Cuben pepper, licorice and caramelization/ripe almond. The palate is nicely fruity, well-balanced, nicely racy, slightly tight and offers a slight density, a slight minerality, roundness, a slight suavity, a fresh frame, a beautiful expression/definition as well as a slight tension. In the mouth this wine expresses slight hints of ripe blueberry, wild Boysenberries and discreet/(very) slight hints of ripe raspberry, earth associated with slight notes of plum, licorice/zan, cardamom, a subtle hint of chocolate as well as a discreet hint of racy minerality. Tannins are fine, racy and very discretely firms. Beautiful gourmandise on the finish. Good length and good persistence. A beautiful, racy wine!
