The nose is very smoky and reductive, needs air to open up. With aeration the wine reveals nuances of roasted sesame, cloves and nutmeg, a touch of vanilla. The palate is creamy and spicy, offering stimulating acidity, notes of ripe lemons, white apples, pears, a hint of honeysuckle. Long, spicy finish. Good ageing potential.
