The nose is fresh, mineral and racy. There are notes of fairly ripe boysenberry, crushed blackcurrant and more slightly jammy strawberry combined with fine touches of tobacco, pepper and a discreet hint of fig and a subtle coffee. The palate is nicely fresh, dynamic, tense and energetic. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fairly ripe/fresh blackcurrant, dried cherry and more slightly of wild red berries combined with hints of iris, iris root as well as hints of tonka bean, tobacco, clove as well as a subtle hint of almost coffee and an imperceptible hint of truffle in the background. Good length.
