Duckhorn Vineyards – Three Palms Vineyard 2013 – Cabernet Sauvignon – Napa Valley

The nose is powerful, aromatic and offers gourmandise as well as power. It reveals notes of cocoa, wild fleshy blackberry and crème de cassis combined with slight touches of raspberry, black cherry as well as slight touches of spices and a subtle touch of gray pepper. The palate is fruity, beautifully well-balanced and offers minerality, a very slight juiciness, straightness, tension, suavity, unctuousity, a beautiful fat as well as a beautiful definition. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry, crushed / juicy cassis and touches of blackberry cream associated with subtle hints of raspberry as well as subtle touches of tonka bean / mocha and slight touches of cardamom. Tannins are fine and straight. Good persistence.
