Domaines Schlumberger – Gewurztraminer Vendanges Tardives – Cuvée Christine 2013 – Alsace

The nose is aromatic, elegant and expressive. It reveals notes of acacia flowers, rose, peony and fine notes of stewed white fruits associated with discreet notes of candied lemon, quince as well as a discreet hint of kumquat, mango and a discreet note of lilac. The palate is fruity, round, suave, fat, nicely well-balanced and offers a nice volume, a fresh frame, a fine acidity (in the background) and a discreet minerality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of jammy nectarine, candied pear and fine notes of candied citrus (tangerine, lemon) associated with a hint of pineapple, mango as well as fine hints of flowers and an imperceptibly hint of spices. Good length.
