Domaine Stéphane de Sousa, Le Crétot à Gauche 2022 – Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is fragrant and expresses savory notes of sweet spices (nutmeg, white pepper, dried liquorice stick), dried rose and peony, dried peppermint, associated with ripe fruits (raspberry, strawberry, bigarreau cherry, red currants, cassis in the background). The palate is gourmand and expresses notes of ripe fruit, even slightly sweet, on the attack. We find the flavors of juicy morello cherry, ripe red cherry (even cherry jam, crushed raspberry, wild strawberry and redcurrant jelly), associated with notes of sweet spices (liquorice, nutmeg) and with a delicate floral touch (iris, peony). The finish is quite persistent, tangy, but gourmand, with notes of juicy morello cherry and redcurrant jelly, as well as a slight touch of menthol in the background. The tannins are melted and supple, slightly grippy. Beautiful acidity and sapidity.
