Domaine Sergent 2020 – Madiran

The wine has a deep ruby color. The aromas have a medium intensity but open up after aeration. It reveals notes of ripe red cherry, morello cherry, red plum, blackcurrant, wild strawberry, black plum, with slight touches of cocoa, liquorice, cinnamon and dried mint. On the palate, there is a lot of fruit and freshness: there are flavors of red cherry, red currant, wild strawberry, and blackcurrant. The fruit is complemented by menthol and spicy notes of licorice, dried mint and black pepper, with a meaty note in the background. The tannins are firm, a bit dry, but silky and balanced by concentrated fruit and high acidity. Good length and concentration in the mouth.
