Domaine Rossignol-Trapet – Clos Prieur 2020 – Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru

The nose is elegant, beautifully conducted and offers richness, power (but with a velvety side / all in elegance), deepness and delicacy. It reveals notes of boysenberry, crushed small blue fruits and small notes of fleshy strawberries associated with touches of cornflower, zan, a hint of nutmeg, crushed almond as well as an imperceptible hint of vanilla. The palate is fruity, racy and offers juiciness, a beautiful acidulous / fresh frame, elegance, finesse, a beautiful velvety side (in finesse) as well as a little (and well-controlled) aerial side. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy / juicy cassis, fresh blackberry and small notes of fresh / pulpy raspberry associated with touches of cornflower, blue plum, nutmeg as well as a hint of chocolate, toasted almond, a subtle hint of vanilla and an imperceptible hint of varietal / sense of a place (in the background). Good length. Tannins are precise, fine, mellow and with an aerial character. A wine full of balance, velvetiness and juiciness.
