Domaine Perrin – Cuvée Marie 2016 – Volnay

Domaine Perrin – Cuvée Marie 2016 – Volnay

The nose is aromatic, slightly intense, slightly gourmand and slight powerful. It reveals notes of boysenberry, plum, fresh cherry and a touch of fresh / ripe red berries combined with touches of racy minerality, spice, a hint of pepper as well as a touch of caramelization / chocolate, almond (in the background) and an imperceptible hint of tobacco. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, racy and offers a nice mineral frame, a slight juiciness, a slight acidity (in the background), gourmandise, fat, roundness, a slight tension as well as a bit aerial side. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy plum, fleshy raspberry and slight notes of strawberry associated with a touch of blackberry, subtle touches of licorice, toasted touches / caramelization, a very discreet hint of vanilla as well as a touch of imperceptible hint of flowers and tobacco. Tannins are fine and very slightly tight. Beautiful persistence.
