The wine shows a bright ruby purple colour. The nose is slightly smoky and reductive, will benefit from decanting, with aeration revealing nuances of black cherries, forest raspberries, complicated by earthy notes and hints of tomato leaf and bell pepper. The palate is dense and round, with elevated acidity, bold, sticky tannins, round and creamy texture. The palate is laid with notes of red sour and black cherries, a hint of pencil shavings and dark minerality. Moderate length. A touch of pleasant bitterness on the finish.
