Domaine Montcalmes 2018 – Languedoc

Domaine Montcalmes 2018 – Languedoc
The nose is elegant, well-built, precise, aromatic and beautifully fresh. There are notes of quince, mirabelle plum and small notes of quite ripe yellow peach associated with small touches of ripe citrus fruits (kumquat …), an oxidative hint as well as very discreet hints of honey, almond and a very discreet hint of dry local grove. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, precise, beautifully racy and offers an acidulous frame, juiciness, a beautiful gourmandize, a good definition, roundness (in finesse), a nice tension as well as minerality. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy / acidulous quince, kumquat and small notes of yellow peach associated with small touches of yellow fruits, pear, discreet hints of sweet spices, a subtle hint of nutmeg, fresh hazelnut as well as a very discreet hint of fresh grove / oak leaf and bitter almond. Good length. A beautiful persistence with a good work on the bitters which come to boost / give « peps » on the finish.
