Domaine Moissenet-Bonnard, Les Charmots 2018 – Pommard Premier Cru

The wine has a medium ruby colour. On the nose, the wine expresses aromas of sweet spices (cinnamon, liquorice, cloves), bitter cocoa, coffee, toast, herbaceous notes (dried mint, wild mint, fresh rosemary), a fine floral character (lily, cornflower) and a lot of red and black fruit (blueberry, blackberry, blackcurrant, Morello cherry, wild strawberry, red currant). On the palate, the wine is juicy, fruity and has a firm tannic structure. It expresses flavours of red cherry, Morello cherry, blackberry, blueberry, strawberry and raspberry, accompanied by delicate herbal (peppermint, dried sage) and floral (dried blueberry, lily, rose petal) touches. Nice length on crunchy, juicy fruit, with energy and freshness thanks to a lively acidity. Slightly drying on the finish, which should melt away with bottle age. Good ageing potential.
