Domaine M. Boutin, Rasteau 2021

Domaine M. Boutin, Rasteau 2021

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The aromas are subtle, on the finesse that combines juicy red fruits and a pronounced herbaceous side, but integrated and refined. It reveals notes of fresh blackcurrant, crème de cassis, morello cherry and morello cherry jam, wild strawberry and sweet red plum, associated with the freshness of liquorice, fresh mint, fresh thyme, savory and a floral touch of violet. On the palate, the wine is ample, enveloping and well-built: the tannins have a fine grain, but they are tight and grippy. The structure of the wine is rounded off by the juicy notes of red cherry, cherry juice, red currant, red plum and cassis. There is also a pleasant herbaceous side (fresh mint, liquorice, blackcurrant leaf) in the background. The finish is fresh thanks to high acidity and notes of aromatic herbs.
