Domaine Guy Mousset – Les Garrigues 2019 – Côtes du Rhône Villages

The nose is powerful, intense (full of control) and offers a beautiful fine gran, deepness as well as a good definition. It reveals notes of wild blackberry, wild cassis, small notes of cassis leaf associated with touches of incense, griotte, lily, garrigue/local grove, hints of grey pepper, nutmeg, tobacco as well as a subtle hint of clove, black olive and olive tree. The palate is fruity, elegant, racy and offers a beautiful acidulous frame, a beautiful balance (almost aerial in the approach), richness (justly controlled), a fine grain, fullness, suavity as well as dynamism. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black cherry/bright griotte, small bright black berries, small notes of juicy blueberry associated with touches of juicy/fresh raspberry, small red berries, cornflower, thyme flowers as well as small hints of garrigue/rosemary/laurel, incense, zan, discreet hints of sweet spices, chocolate as well as a very discreet hint of caramelization and black olive (in the background). Tannins are finely chewy and elegant.
