Domaine Gaston & Pierre Ravaut – La Corvée 2018 – Ladoix 1er Cru

The nose is racy and offers a certain controlled power, a beautiful fine grain as well as delicacy. It reveals notes of ripe Boysenberry, fleshy / ripe strawberry and small notes of crushed small red berries associated with touches of violets, liquorice as well as a discreet hint of Bourbon vanilla, lilac and an imperceptible hint of bergamot. The palate is fruity and offers minerality, freshness, a good definition, gourmandize, a fine tension, suavity, a beautiful sapidity as well as deepness. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy / juicy cherry, fleshy / juicy strawberry and small notes of acidulous blackberry associated with touches of violet, lilac, crushed small blue fruits as well as hints of liquorice, hazelnut and a subtle hint of vanilla. Tannins are precise, racy and structuring. Presence of a fine almost saline hint on the finish / persistence. Beautiful aromatic persistence.
