Domaine Filliatreau – Château Fouquet – Le Clos 2019 – Saumur

(Biodynamic) The wine shows a bright ruby purple colour. The nose is intense and spicy, revealing nuances of cloves, cinnamon, a touch of nutmeg and balsamic, supported by notes of ripe black cherries, cherry compote, a touch of forest raspberry and cassis. The palate is juicy and vivid, offering crispy acidity, vibrant juiciness and fruit concentration, sweet, grippy but well-mannered tannins. Notes of sweet and pungent spices on the palate intertwine with hints of juicy berries, savoury nuances of cloves, balsamic and black olive tapenade. A complex, very sapid wine with long and intense spicy finish.
