Domaine Faiveley – Aux Chaignots 2018 – Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru

The nose is elegant, fine, subtle and offers richness and finesse of the grain (just like a square of silk). It reveals notes of bright violet plum, small blue fruits, small notes of fleshy cherry associated with small touches of crushed redcurrant as well as fine hints of violet, lilac, liquorice stick, a discreet hint of sugared mild tobacco and black tea. The palate is fruity, elegant, delicate, beautifully fresh and offers a beautiful precision of the grain, delicacy, construction/structure as well as straightness (full of elegance) and a fine acidulous frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright blackberry, bright violet plum, small notes of cherry associated with touches of strawberry as well as hints of violet, lilac, graphit, black tea and a subtle hint of fresh mild tobacco. Tannins are elegant and delicate. A very discreet saline hint of the finish. A discreet hint of ripe almond and a small firmness on the persistence. A wine full of delicacy, precision/justness, gourmandize… just like a square of silk.
