Domaine du Colombier – Cuvée Gaby 2019 – Crozes-Hermitage

The nose is elegant, aromatic and offers a concentrated fruit as well as a certain controlled power. It reveals notes of bright cassis, kirsch cherry, small notes of violet, bright garriguette strawberry associated with touches of small bright berries, crushed blueberry, Badiane, hints of nutmeg, sweet spices, toasted/caramelized oak as well as a very fine hint of lily and black olive. The palate is fruity, mineral, elegant, well-balanced and offers freshness, a juicy frame, a certain tension, a good guideline, dynamism, concentration, a small fat, a racy minerality as well as a fine grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of bright cassis, bright violet plum, small notes of griotte/black cherry associated with touches of rose, violet, small flowers, small pulpy berries, saffron, camphor, black olive as well as hints of dark chocolate, caramelization and fine hints of local grove/arbutus. Tannins are structuring and well-built. Good length.
