Domaine du Château de Meursault – Les Chaillots 2018 – Ladoix

The nose is fresh, fruity, aromatic and offers a certain gourmandize as well as richness (but full of control / freshness). It reveals notes of wild raspberry, fleshy strawberry and small notes of cassis associated with touches of plum, cornflowers, lily, hints of liquorice, nutmeg as well as fine hints of laurel / laurel berries (in the background) and an imperceptible hint of fresh leather (in the background). The wine needs to be decanted. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, framed and offers freshness, a small minerality, an acidulous frame, a certain richness (but full of control), a beautiful freshness as well as a small tight side. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy / juicy raspberry, crunchy / juicy cherry and small notes of acidulous purple plum associated with touches of cornflowers, licorice as well as fine hints of racy minerality, vanilla, laurel berries and a subtle toasted hint. Tannins are slightly firm. Good length and good persistence.
