Domaine du Château de Meursault – Clos des Chênes 2015 – Volnay Premier Cru

The nose is aromatic, complex, racy, elegant and offers a slight intensity, power as well as a fine concentration. It reveals notes of crushed blueberry, crushed blackberry and wild strawberry combined with a touch of caramelized oak, gray pepper as well as a discreet hint of chocolate and cardamom. The palate is fruity, mineral, juicy, racy, well-balanced, well-built and offers a nice definition, a nice juiciness, power, an acid frame, finesse, a slight freshness as well as precision. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy plum, juicy blackberry and slight notes of redcurrant combined with slight touches of toasted oak, liquorice as well as a subtle touch of gray pepper, chocolate and caramelization. Tannins are fine, slightly chewy and very discreetly dry. Good length. Power and gourmandise on the finish.
