Domaine Digioia-Royer – Les Charmois 2015 – Nuits-Saint-Georges

The nose is aromatic and offers good maturity, gourmandise as well as elegance. It reveals notes of ripe plum, blackberry and slight notes of cherry, fresh berries associated with touches of raspberry, an imperceptible hint of rose as well as touches of spices, tonka bean and earth / terroir. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, elegant and offers a good definition, a nice acid frame, a beautiful juiciness, a pretty suavity, a good precision, a slight minerality, a nice grain as well as a slight fat. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy Quetsche plum, fleshy raspberry and slight notes of redcurrant combined with slight touches of cherry as well as discreet hints of tonka bean / mocha, cardamom, spices and slight woody touches. Tannins are fine and slightly firm / tight. Good length. (2020+)
