Domaine des Roches Neuves – Thierry Germain – Les Memoires 2020 – Saumur Champigny

(Biodynamic) The wine shows a deep, intense and youthful purple colour. The nose is concentrated, slightly restrained, needs aeration. It opens up with notes of black cherries, bramble and black raspberries, a hint of thorn, a lot of minerality. The palate is a bit tight still with chalky, quite assertive tannins and good freshness. The wine is very young and needs more time to open up. On the palate it reveals a nice tension and bright fruitiness of black forest berries and nice savoury nuances.  A nice grip on the finish and brilliant ageing potential.
