Domaine de la Roche Honneur – Diamant Prestige 2020 – Chinon

(Organic) The wine shows a deep ruby purple colour. The nose is intense and dense, offering concentrated notes of black cherries, bramble, forest blackberries, a hint of violet, a touch of olive tapenade and sun-dried tomatoes. The palate is juicy, dense, multi-layered with refreshing, crunchy acidity, bold, grippy but polished tannins, nice fruit concentration. The wine is packed with notes of ripe dark berries, supported by savoury hints of black tea, umami, soya sauce and dark minerality. A lot of ripeness and power but all in finesse. Long, fruity finish. A nice grip.
