Domaine de la Poulette – Les Vaucrains 2011 – Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru

The nose is aromatic, powerful, delicate, elegant and offers a slight depthness / intensity. It reveals notes of violet plum, dried cassis and slight notes of dried strawberry, raspberry combined with hints of flowers (rose, violet) as well as subtle touches of licorice / Zan, tobacco, spices, gray pepper and a discreet hint of nutmeg. The palate is fruity, mineral (racy minerality), gourmand, elegant, silky, fine and offers a good suavity, a nice definition, straightness, a beautiful harmony, delicacy, a slight freshness as well as the purity. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy plum and slight notes of juicy red berries associated with slight touches of raspberry, cherry, white rose as well as slight touches of wood, cardamom, bean tonka and spices. Tannins are fine, elegant, structuring and a bit firm. There are a hint of cocoa and an imperceptible touch of caramelization on the aftertaste. Very beautiful persistence!
