Domaine de la Janasse – Chaupin 2016 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The nose is aromatic, elegant, fruity and offers a slight concentration. It reveals notes of cassis, sour cherry and small notes of wild black berries associated with violet hints of violet, elderberries as well as very discreet hints of cocoa, scrubland and gray pepper. The palate is fruity, juicy, suave, gourmande, well-built and offers delicacy, finesse, unctuosity, a mineral frame, a fine acidity as well as a beautiful texture. On the palate this wine expresses notes of sour cherry / black cherry, ripe / crushed blueberry, plum associated with small notes wild strawberry / wild red berries as well as slight hints of cocoa and a very discreet hint of caramelization / Bourbon vanilla (in the background). Tannins are slightly mellow. Power on the finish.
