Domaine de la Janasse 2016 – Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The nose is aromatic and elegant. It reveals notes of wild blueberry, elderberry and small black fruits associated with slight touches of scrubland / grove, thyme and roasted / spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, precise, tense and offers a small juiciness, a good definition, freshness, a slight mineral frame as well as fat. On the palate this wine expresses notes of black berry, cassis and small notes of black fruits associated with hints of sour cherry, crushed raspberry as well as subtle hints of spices, grove, licorice and a hint of caramelization on the finish. Tannins are fine and slightly firm. Small firmness and gourmandise on the finish. There is an imperceptible hint of vanilla on the finish.
