The nose is fruity, fresh and offers some power and complexity (fruit/spice/varietal notes). There are notes of wild blackcurrant, peony and more lightly spiced, combined with hints of red berries, fresh violet plum, Madagascar pepper and a discreet hint of sediment. The palate is fruity and reveals freshness, minerality, good definition, a certain gourmandize and a juicy/acidic structure. On the palate this wine has juicy/pulpy blackberry, blueberry, violet and a hint of crisp raspberry with hints of varietal, fine star anise and a subtle hint of fresh blackcurrant and spice. Sapid. The finish becomes tighter. The tannins are well managed.
