Domaine de Chevalier 2020 – Pessac-Léognan, cru classe grave

On the nose, elegant, racy, complex and offers a fine grain, a little tension/airiness and fine depth. It reveals notes of pulpy blackberry, fat and subtle hints of bright red currants combined with touches of lilac, lily as well as hints of spice, a discreet seductive hint of star anise and a discreet waft of cardamom. On the palate, fruity, fresh, racy, elegant and offers gourmandize, good definition, tension, precision, some delicate/fresh power and a very nice balance. The wine expresses notes of pulpy/sparkling blackberry, cassis and hints of raspberry associated with touches of redcurrant as well as fine points of juicy/pulpy blueberry, lily and points of tonka bean/chocolate, a subtle touch of caramelization and vanilla. A persistence on a hint of fleshy hazelnut. A little chewiness on the finish.
