Domaine de Cambes 2021 – Bordeaux

Domaine de Cambes 2021 – Bordeaux

The nose is elegant, aromatic and reveals complexity as well as a nice maturity in freshness and a fine candied touch. There are notes of blackberry, roast and slightly toasted, combined with hints of almost candied cherry, as well as fine points of fairly ripe violet plum, violet, a fine touch of camphor, pepper, as well as discreet spices and almost a touch of dry clay. The palate is fresh, mineral, elegant and offers a nice definition, an acidic structure, a hint of confiture but with freshness (and mastery), tension and a nice energy. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy black cherry, fleshy/fresh raspberry and, more slightly, pulpy/chunky black plum, combined with hints of violet, fine black tea, camphor and discrete hints of roasting and cocoa. Good length. A very discreet hint of vanilla (in the background). Nice energy. The tannins are pretty, soft and sapid. Discreet chewiness on the finish/persistence.
