Domaine Chatelain – Les Chailloux Silex 2021 – Pouilly-Fumé

The wine has a pale lemon color with green reflections. The nose is aromatic, herbaceous and mineral. It expresses the smokiness of gunflint, combined with a note of dry stone and limestone, as well as herbaceous touches of cut peppermint, fresh grass and oregano and fresh aromas of lime, lemon, green apple, crunchy white nectarine and candied grapefruit. There is also a delicate floral bouquet (linden, acacia). On the palate, the wine is crisp, chiseled, with sharp acidity and pronounced citrus notes. It expresses the flavors of lime, lime zest, green apple, lemon juice, grapefruit, as well as herbaceous notes (tomato leaf, cut grass, peppermint in the background), a floral touch of lemon blossom and some minerality(flint). The finish is medium-long, tangy, with notes of citrus and citrus zest, associated with a good bitterness.
