Domaine CapMartin – Cuvée du Couvent 2014 – Madiran

The nose is powerful, fruity and offers concentration. It reveals notes of crushed wild cassis, small black berries and small notes of ripe strawberries, small blue fruits associated with touches of liquorice, Sichuan pepper as well as discreet toasted hints, coffee and an imperceptible hint of Sichuan pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers a good definition, a slight acidulous frame, a slight straightness, a small minerality, freshness, a bit tension as well as a good guideline. On the palate this wine expresses notes of wild cassis, blackberry and small notes of small wild fruits associated with slight touches of Zan, flowers / cassis bud as well as hints of racy minerality, camphor, spices and a very discreet hint of pepper. Tannins are fine and well-built.
