Darioush – Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 – Napa Valley

Darioush – Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 – Napa Valley

The nose is elegant, structured and offers power (but full of finesse), a slight density as well as a slight freshness (in the background). The wine needs to be decanted. It reveals notes of fleshy blackberry, cassis and wild strawberry combined with slight touches of spices, toasted oak, a hint of dark chocolate, a discreet hint of gray pepper and an imperceptible hint of caramelized oak (in the background / after aeration). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, dense, tight and offers a beautiful mineral frame, a slight acidity, a slight gourmandise, straightness, tension, a beautiful definition, power (but full of finesse), a beautiful structure as well as a beautiful and silky matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of blackberry, cassis and black cherry associated with slight touches of blue fruits (in the background), a subtle hint of fresh / juicy raspberry as well as fine / discreet touches of toasted oak and subtle touches of dark chocolate powder. Tannins are fine and a bit firm. Good length.
