Dame de Boüard 2021 – Montagne-Saint-Émilion

Dame de Boüard 2021 – Montagne-Saint-Émilion

The nose is spicy, aromatic and shows complexity and fine concentration. There are notes of blackberry, pulpy strawberry and, to a lesser extent, blackcurrant, combined with hints of ripe red berries, spices, a hint of lilac and a discreet touch of fresh tobacco. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, minerality, a fine unctuousness, gourmandize, accuracy, a fine stretched/tight character. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy wild raspberry, pulpy/juicy cherry and more slightly fresh blackcurrant combined with hints of lilac, violet as well as fine points of nutmeg, fresh tobacco, a subtle hint of almond, a delicate hint of camphor (on the back). The tannins are soft. The finish is sapid, salin with a nice delicate touch in the background, showing good persistence. Nice work with bitterness and varietal (not the vegetal) flavours.
